US Open, Father's Day, and Summer Solstice Gift for you

Today I would like to gift you with an MP3 on becoming a calm and composed golfer for summer/09. If you don't know anything about me, I briefly would like share that I have been in the personal development field for golf since 1997 when I began Yoga for Golf. I had worked at Golf Courese for three years prior, as a bartender and while going to school to become a certified Yoga Instructor. I immediatley saw an improvement in my game from the inside out. One of the biggest insights I had was to see the truth in these words from George Knudson -
“You don’t play golf to relax.
You have to be relaxed to play golf!”-

I also discovered -A Relaxed Golfer is a Healthy Golfer
I created a MP3 on relaxation for golfers that I hope you enjoy and share with your friends and family. Go to http://tinyurl.com/d9px8m

Benefits from relaxation techniques:
• Fewer physical symptoms, such as headaches/ back pain
• Fewer emotional responses, such as anger/ frustration
• More energy, Improved concentration
• Greater ability to handle adversity
• Relaxation is the initial stage for training the mind, which leads a golfer to the
‘flow (zone) states’ associated with the zone.

In this progressive relaxation Mp3 you will also discover ancient yoga tools of a mantra and a mudra, or in more modern terms an affirmation and an anchor technique to use on the golf course to bring you back to relaxed feelings.
In time and with practice, you will be rewarded with the ability to drop with ease into a place of deep contentment instantly. This is what yoga is all about, after all: stilling our fidgety bodies and calming our rambling minds so that we may rest quietly in the present moment and see clearly the peace that resides within.
This is when the fun of playing really begins!

Need more proof- It was hard for golfers in the early days of my business to see the value of taking time away from physical practice to reap the benefits of praticing the inner game of golf. If this mind set still holds true for you I am adding a A well-documented Soviet experiment using 4 matched groups of world class athletes.

The experiment was to put these groups prior to the 1980 Olympics. The experiment was for their training regimes. This is how it was devised:

Group 1 trained only physically,
Group 2 trained physically 75% of the time and mentally 25%
Group 3 divided physical and mental training equally
Group 4 put 25% into physical and 75% into mental.

The athletes were evaluated and Group 1 doing only physical training showed the least improvement in performance. The group that showed the most improvement was the group that did the most mental training.

To reiterate : Relaxation is the essential ingredient in training the mind. And as your body relaxes, so will your mind.
When practiced regularly, this MP3 will lead to a reduction in your everyday stress levels and a boost in your feelings of joy and serenity, it heightens problem-solving abilities, and boosts motivation and productivity. What’s more, it will also serve as a protective quality by teaching you how to stay calm and collected in the face of life’s curveballs. Best of all – with a little practice – anyone can reap these benefits.

Spring Training For Golf Goddesses

Do you imagine physical exercise when you think of Spring Training?

Discovering How to 'Become A Golf Goddess challenges this belief system by focusing on a more holistic approach, a training (or preparedness) of not just the physical but the mental, emotional and spiritual aspect of a human being.

The Golf Course is a great way to learn about Human Behavior and it reveals an unbalanced system in the way golfers prepare (if at all) for the upcoming season.
For the past 12 years I have been the President of the Original Yoga for Golf. At the get-go I was a pioneer in combining the body/mind conditioning for golfers. In the early days golfers would think of Yoga only as a fitness component and were surprised at the connection that yoga had on training the mind.

That is how I came up with this quote many years ago that is on my YFG website:
“Golf is more than a Game,
It’s a State of Mind.
Yoga is more than Stretching,
It is Mastering a State of Mind.”

Most people these days are educated in the fact that yoga means union, it is a joining together of the body, mind, and spirit. More information on YFG www.yogaforgolf.ca
Now,To understand how I have incorporated all parts of a person so they can live and play Happier, more fulfilled and heart-centered games there has been FOUR Discussion Board topics added;

Preparing the Body
- Understand the Power of 'The Dailies"-The 60 second Stretch-
- Doing a small amount of fitness over time yields large results. This is the way the Olympic Athletes train.

Preparing the Mind
- Writing Down Golf Goals
- Starting Vision Boards

Preparing the Heart
- Gratitude Golf Games

Preparing the Spirit
- Playing in the Rhythm of Nature
- Discover a feminine way to play which leads you to the Great Mystery and more synchronicity!

To read all these in full please go to the Facebook Group, (the first Link at top of this Blog), while visiting you will learn more about the upcoming book! 'How to Become a Golf Goddess'

April Fools Day

April Dancin Fools with couple dancing

A lovely piece on April Fools Day

"The bitter cold winds of winter are a recent memory as the shining Sun brightly beams our way into April (this is a bit of a stretch given yesterdays winds and cold!) This is the astrological New Year and for centuries April 1st marked the New year for most of the world. When the current solar based Gregorian calendar was introduced, the New Year lost its affinity with the Zodiac. It took almost 200 yrs for the calendar to be accepted and instituted.
A few centuries later, echoes remain from earlier celebrations of joyful newness during April. The grass is a tender, fresh green, trees are budding and singing birds return to court and mate. We are giddy with delight, foolish in our desire to celebrate the sunshine and blossoming growth. We celebrate the April Fool.
April Fools Day, April 1, is a lighthearted holiday of practical jokes and laughter. Even though the origins are murky, some evidence indicates that this holiday of mockery and joking began while the calendar was changing. The fool mocked those who were laggard, resistant to change.
The idea of foolery and jesting is a time honoured and sacred tradition. In several Native American traditions, there are tricksters and sacred clowns whose path is to teach through humour and disruption. Joking, mockery, and the antics of the madman shake people out of their habitual thinking and actions moving them into new relationships with the sacred and with spirit.
In Europe, the tradition of the jester and fool is widespread, stemming from a time when there was no free speech. The fool was considered a twin soul to the royal leader, though one touched with childlike madness. The insanity was considered a sacred condition, a touch of the divine, and it exempted the fool from the normal rules, laws and codes of conduct. The fool was able to say things, point out incongruities and contradictions, and reveal hypocrisy. He did it with laughter, wild antics, bawdy jokes and rude language. In many cases, jesters and fools were the only ones who could tell the ruling classes some hard facts.
In our lives, the class clown performed these tricks for us. Modern comedians also look at life in a slightly askew fashion in order to point out ways to change. This is not always a comfortable or safe role - jesters and clowns often came to a bad end. A lot of times, our beloved class clown wound up in detention.
Folk and magical traditions tell us of the magical times and places called "betwixt and between." Neither this nor that , betwixt and between are times and places where normal rules do not apply- the place between, the normally unseen worlds give us tantalizing glimpses of what is, what was and what is to be.
April, from its first foolish day onward is just such a magical time. Each new day - with its tender green shoots, fresh blossoms, and birds on the wing is the the time between childhood and adult. We can tap into our own inner fool, allowing the laughter, jesting and disruption to jar us out of our winter pathways and depressions. We can move our awareness inward to that tiny bright spot of madness to find where desire and delight touch. In that gossamer place, we find our way into remembered innocence, laughter, mirth, and joy. Refreshed and enlivened, zany fools, we walk out into the sunshine ready for the next grand adventure and bright new season.
This is a time to see things with fresh eyes and to hear songs as if for the first time. We are rediscovering magic, reawakening to the world of light and beauty. We are between the past and the future. We are the fool."

-from the Llwewellyn's Witches calendar

Have fun today being the Fool!

Spring Equinox-Golf Goals

Happy Spring Golfers,
Today I would like to ask you the question "What excites you about the game of golf?"
Have you thought about writing this down in the form of goals? Goals are a great practice to jump start your passion for the upcoming season, and they help keep the flame burning bright throughout. Otherwise golf, like the game of life, can have you drifting aimlessly along and then frustration, complacency and god-forbid disinterest can set in, if you have no self-direction.

David Swartz book "The magic of thinking Big" tells us
"There is magic in setting and writing down goals. It sets up into motion a powerful psychological, spiritual and emotional force. We become aware of the things we need to do, to achieve and accomplish them. Things come to us, things begin to happen. We tap into our powerful subconscious mind. Surrender to desire and gain energy, enthusiasm, mental zip and even better health. Energy increases, multiplies, when you set a desired goal and resolve to work toward that goal."

Vision Boards-

A very powerful tool is to make vision boards; I have used this one practice very successfully over the years. It is such fun, because you don't have to figure out how your goals will arrive, you live in the feminine the Great Mystery and opportunities just arise, that is the exciting part. Many times the direction to follow will just occur out -of -the Blue, but it is really your subconscious going to work on your desires. How? Eyes can pick up 1,000 pictures an hour; you become what you look at. The vision board is like a mirror imaging back to you, your desires. Now they may not happen all in the first year but you will be surprised at how many do come your way. But remember you must take the action to act upon the signs when they are delivered to you.
If you are a big thinker and you want to play on the tour someday. Then cut out pictures of the courses you want to play at. Cut out pictures of Tiger and get a golf picture of you and put it beside him or any other touring Pro.
Place the board where you will see it daily, do not cling or grasp with your mind by being impatient. Just go about your day and in an easy and effortless way you will have put in place the Law of Attraction.

How to Play a Gratitude Golf Game

To play the gratitude game

1. Imagine approaching your playing partners and saying “I would like your help to play a grateful golf game the first day of spring and for all of us to focus on what we are grateful for while playing the round.”

2. Your gratefulness can begin at home, by contemplating on what you like about your golf equipment. Then at the course, what do you like about the clubhouse, the course, what do you like about your playing partners. Look for the good and you will see it reflected back.

3. A great way to begin your day on the golf course is to bow to Mother Earth. This way we humble ourselves before her to teach us the lessons for the day. This is a similar act in Martial Arts the opponents use they bow to each other before they begin. Although we don’t view the golf course as an opponent, but as our teacher and playing guide. We can use a yoga move called the Yoga Mudra pose to set the intention of the day. To others it just looks like a pre-game stretch but it is the beginning of sacred play. We bow forward and silently say Thank you to Mother Earth for the opportunity to play upon her.

4. Think about how children learn, by playing games, this does not stop ever, but we view ourselves as adults and we need to be serious, let that go for one day. Take Golf seriously, but yourself lightly. Golfers are very lucky to continue to learn by playing. Golf, just like life, is filled with paradoxes and a lot of the time we only need to change our perception to be happier and more grateful.

For instance instead of viewing the sand and water as obstacles this day. Another way to view them is an opportunity to play better golf. If you land in the sand, you can say “I am grateful for the opportunity to practice with my wedge.”

5. The breaking down of negative habits will not be accomplished with one game, so please be gentle with yourself if they do come up.

As a reminder to yourself, know that the willingness to play a gratitude game is more important then the overall outcome. When we are grateful, we prove to ourselves we are FULL OF GREATNESS, and you are one step closer to becoming your own encouraging coach.

If the weather, work or some other reason prevents a day of playing or go to the Driving Range- Make an imaginary golf game Gratitude list. And reread it before you play your first game of the season.

Spring Equinox 2009 -Gratitude Golf Games

This is a call for all golfers to unite one day to raise the earth’s vibrations by playing a day of golf in gratitude. The changing of the seasons, known as equinoxes and solstices’ are the most powerful energy times throughout any year. This year, the first day of spring falls on Friday, March 20th, 2009, but many ceremonies are still held March 21st so either day is appropriate to play this game. Although not everyone in the world can golf this on day, they can still play the Gratitude game. This inner call to play a gratitude game goes out for each Spring Equinox leading up to the year 2012.

Why? The more we begin to send thoughts of Love and Gratitude to the golf courses and driving ranges, the more we are doing our part in healing this planet.

Golf Courses need healing because many of these areas upon Mother Earth are places that are covered with heavy dense energy. They have been areas that are allowed to be dumping grounds of golfer’s negative thoughts and energy. The earth has absorbed years and years of anger and frustration from golfers. Just imagine how much gratitude games will help lift the heavy energy that surrounds most golf courses this raised energy will effect everyone consciously and unconsciously.

Think about the difference when playing in your home town in comparisons to going away on golf retreats. There is a different energy, gratitude is already naturally at the core of your playing, even if you are not aware of it, and the golf appears to be more fun, easy and relaxed.

Gratefulness brings us more to our hearts and out of our heads and the good feelings actually help us play better. Notice as you practice

Your appreciation throughout the game if the energy changes like happier feelings, and conversation, more relaxed body language, balls start finding the holes in amazing ways for you to be more grateful for.

March International Women's Month- Free Gift

Women golfing

Did anyone celebrate women or themselves March 8th ? Did you know it was International Women’s Day? Women have had March 8th dedicated to them since 1996. I wasn’t aware of this fact until a few years back. Check out the website for this years theme and how it is celebrated all month long.http://www.internationalwomensday.com

Today, began with me giving a gift to my Facebook Group “How to Become a Golf Goddess” -Discover a Sacred way to play and now I am extending the gift to all my media sources. The gift is based on my own personal IWD Theme.

Theme -Discover how 2009 can be sublime while connected to the Divine.

My Gift for all you wonderful Women-May these creative visualizations help you as a beginning step to fully becoming the Co-Creators that you truly are! I share a CD I created that is now on Mp3 and was the bases for my Transformation into living in the Divine Magic of Mother Earth I will be sharing the Amazing Journey throughout March.

You will find at my website-
http://www.golfinggoddesses.com/about.html On the page,Just scroll down until you see the C.D cover Meditation Steps to your Hearts Desire and then click on numbers 1 to 4 or the title. This CD was created in 2002 a few months after I used the principles to open my Yoga Studio…I used and still use each of these recordings since that time to live, work, and play in the Flow of the Laws of Attraction and the Path of Least Resistance. All four tracks are wonderful although I would like to particularly like to draw your attention to track number two,Releasing Blocks is the original title- It is a timeless creative visualization that addresses Fear. I have learned we have many degrees of Fear at different times in our lives. At the moment the collective consciousness is going through the fear of transformation. As someone who has walked through the darkness and fear many times I am here to share that it is an Amazing Journey and there is Bliss in the light At the end of the tunnel.

*****Transformation-******** The great loneliness - like the loneliness a caterpillar endures when she wraps herself in a silky shroud and begins the long transformation from chrysalis to butterfly. It seems that we too must go through such a time, when life as we have known it is over - when being a caterpillar feels somehow false and yet we don’t know who we are supposed to become. All we know is that something bigger is calling us to change. And though we must make the journey alone, and even if suffering is our only companion, soon enough we will become a butterfly, soon enough we will taste the rapture of being alive.”
